I originally started photography as a visual output for my poetry. I wanted a way to visualize the emotional aspects represented in my poetry, but after I took those first photos, I was in a different realm of art that I'd never been in before.

 

Photography to me isn’t like other art forms. As a photographer, you are there in the moment seeing exactly what’s happening, but you have to take the time with your finger on the trigger to determine what the perfect moment is to snap a photo. Our goal is to trigger emotions from a single moment. While emotions can still be provoked through a coordinated scene, it’s more provoking when you know the photographer was in the middle of something happening. Some of the best photos are of landscapes and people in their normal atmosphere because the viewer knows that the photographer was there in the moment to determine what would be the perfect photo to take.

 

All of the criteria that makes photography what it is registers to me more than nay other art form besides dance and that's why I've chosen it as my career path.
